🥪 Gemaksmodules

A gemaksmodule (convenience module) is a product category with its own shipping rules, such as a Lunchservice that delivers sandwiches within 45 minutes. Stores opt in to the modules they want to offer.

How it works

1. E-com team sets the category type to Convenience in the admin portal. The default type is Groceries.
2. Store owners see all convenience categories in the Store Hub and add the ones they want to offer.
3. Per module, per store, the store owner configures pickup and delivery separately:
   • Preparation time (in minutes)
   • Time window (from / until)
   • Weekdays
4. Customers get time slots at checkout that respect these rules.

Why a different preparation time?

Regular groceries use the store's default preparation time. A convenience module replaces it. For example, a lunch service with a 45-minute preparation time can offer a slot sooner than the default allows.

Mixed shopping carts

• If every category in the cart is a convenience module enabled by the store, only the module rules apply.
• If the cart also contains regular groceries (or a module the store did not enable), the store's default preparation time applies as well. The customer gets the slots that satisfy all rules.

Postal codes

Delivery is limited to the store's delivery areas (postal code ranges), which can be narrowed further per delivery slot. This means a store can deliver close by only, instead of the whole city.

⚠️ Postal codes are currently set per store and slot, not per convenience module. A module can't have its own, smaller delivery area yet.

Good to know

• A category can't be switched back to Groceries while any store has it enabled.
• Dark stores can use their own module settings or inherit those of their parent store.
• Weekdays can be saved per module, but they are not yet applied when calculating slots.
